If one were in an apocalypse situation and needed to give a direct donation of blood to another, how would that be done? I'm asking about doing this in a situation where there are no hospitals, it's just the person needing blood and the person donating.
You can't just insert the needle and tubing into the donator first and then the recipient, can you? Wouldn't it have to be drained into something (ideally one could get their hands on the appropriate receptacle) and then given to the person who needed it?
