His first rocket launch in 2014 took him to 1,374ft, but successive launches didn't travel much higher. A 2018 flight peaked at 1,875 feet.

Commercial jets fly at 35,000 feet.

Weather balloons can reach at least 35 km. All he would need to do is attach a camera. Others have done this and taken video & photos.

51.82km (170,000 ft. or 32.2mi) - highest altitude for unmanned research balloon - launched from Chico, California in 1972"

So many options. So little common sense.

Larry Walters tied weather balloons to a lawn chair got higher than this guy did, back in 1982.
What a fucking moron.

I don't see you building any rockets, you fucking moron.

Maybe he was retarded, but at least he was brave.

Nah, he was just an idiot, but he was willing to shoot himself into the air on a firecracker to prove he wasn't. I'll drink to that.

At least he died fighting for what he believed in.

He didn't choose to be stupid, but he did choose to act with conviction, and I respect him for that.

In one article I read on him, it did say he didn't do it just for the Flat Earth theory, but because he fashioned himself as a daredevil. So in my estimation, kind of like Eval Kanival.

He made poor choices.

Yes, at least he left a lasting impression on the Earth.
