For maximum self-doxxing

For maximum self-doxxing

(post is archived)

I used foldable solar on this voyage. Stowed after being at anchor and getting underway.

Despite all my self doxxing, lol at me saying which island...

I only have a drogue aboard, but a chute would make more sense for more serious cruising, like around the horn [which had been my plan when I got her, but so much for that for the time bieing...]

She can heave to like a charm [jib backwinded, main full to weather], but "full keeled" boats always do. But Walkabout is designed originally to be a Thames racer, and has a rather agressively cutawayforefoot to the keel, by late 50s standards, at least.

She's no fin keeler by any stretch of the imagination, but for a "full keel", she's super maneuverable. Aside from in reverse, at which point she's a nightmare.

Shite, son, I think we have some sailing adventures to discuss here! You make me re-remenber specific terms!

I've been too much a goddamned lubber since buying this millstone I call a house!

I hear the "60's" fiberglass work (over built) is WAY tougher than today's boats (efficient (i before e? EXCEPT after c?)..read as CHEAPER) construction. Sounds like a GOOD blue water boat. Suitable for single hand (my goal at one point). Seems to me, after further reading (TONS of books over the years) going abroad like that, though, is problematic, since MOST (if not ALL) shit skin/nigger nations HATE white people AND Americans AND men (we're all RICH and have PENSIONS and INSURANCE) and enjoy victimizing them in various ways with FULL cooperation of authorities (so I READ anyway). Also, I hear, "they" do NOT report LOST yachts in international waters (or possibly shit skin nations waters), ONLY commercial losses are tracked.

Well over an inch thick at waterline. Super overbuilt.

We sail fully armed, rifle AND marine magnum shotgun. No need to deploy armaments so far. But everyone hates Americans...

Lots of friends have "canadian passports", but I resist this kind of duplicity, for now,

We're fucked, though. I don't know where we could safely sail. A friend just today mentioned the Maldives, but he's a qfag, so idunno about that,

I figure we will just do as we do, and stay armed and maybe we have a slim chance, in these communist clownworld days... I guess I just pray I die well, taking many enemies with me if that time comes.

My sailor pals all assure me that the rest of the world os cooler than that, but with how things are going, I question how accurate they are, having sailed the world in years past.

the gun thing. They can even punish you for being prepared to DEFEND yourself...from THEM. You can GET a Canadian passport for such a purpose without LIVING there? EVER?

I heard some stories (South American coastal) where the SHERIFF was IN the pirate gang that sometimes "helps" private yachts navigate their yachts (asking for instructions into harbor) right ONTO a REEF (then they salvage/plunder the yacht). stories like that.

Yeah I'm not seeing it. I'm sure it's a MIXED bag, but it's STILL a crap shoot, and me being autistic (NOT particulary sociable and even UNFRIENDLY if riled up by criminals) is NOT an asset on the high seas. THOUGHT, initially, I was a GOOD "out" for me to spend my life after working days were finished (NOT prematurely though).

I hear COSTS have skyrocketed especially for boats 40 ft and over (WHEN you NEED help). So buying a boat is a drop in the ocean as far as expenses go, even IF you can do most of your own diesal and electrical work, there's is STILL the question of PARTS and docking fees (esp dry dock), etc. Just makes it all problematic (OPPOSITE of what I was going for in general). I'm thinking my voyage could be fairly easily truncated leaving me with NOTHING. That is too much STRESS.
