if you say so. looks wet
It was warm enough that none of us cared. I sailed under jib alone because I didn't know my new crew or their capabilities very well yet. Next time we sail full and by and get properly wet, and go way further and faster, because good crew is good.
Where is this? I’ve only been sailing a couple of times out of Annapolis. It’s the best. Even though it’s way out of my pay grade we like going to the sailboat show down there when possible.
I'd love to go to that show, even if naptown sucks now!
This was a complete tour of the outer Los Angeles harbor, all the way down to Seal Beach, and back up to San Pedro from outside of the harbor, tacking around all the ships at anchor. A national geographic ship was there and they were taking pictures of us. Too bad they're irrelevant now... It would be awesome to see ourselves pictorially in that mag back in the day.
Sounds awesome. I love the feeling of freedom a sailboat provides. There’s something about being out on the water.
A friend of mine is a pilot so we fly down to Annapolis for the shows. It’s a great day trip. We prefer the catamarans for the luxury factor. It’s cool checking out the sailboats and cats that cost millions of dollars. It’s worth the $20 to enter the show.
Annapolis harbor area is pretty nice. It’s a cool little spot. Last time my friend rented a catamaran and we went up to Baltimore inner harbor for the night. It was a cool trip although there wasn’t much wind for sailing. Used the Diesel engine most of the trip. Baltimore may be a shithole but arriving via boat was pretty awesome.
That does sound pretty glorious.
For some reason, I prefer cramped narrow single hulled sailing. I know that there's little chance of getting capsized, and if it were to happen God forbid, she'd right herself right quick. But then I like sailing in shitty weather.
Sailing in nice weather yesterday demonstrates to me that I need to get back into shape to sail the way I love to again!
I put new guy on helm, because he was fantastic at it, so I did most of the line handling. The missus tries to help, bit you know how that goes...
the outer Los Angeles harbor
I heard that the sea is saltier in this area.
