Male hosts in Japan don't get paid as well as female hostesses, which already wasn't great, and foreign men get paid even less than that, so don't be thinking that this is some kind of jackpot career or anything like that. Also, the harsh contrast between the cafe and the cyberpunk dystopia outside is really jarring.
