Yeah, the thing about cooking/preparing animals alive is absolutely fucked and I don’t understand why some Asians do it.

You’ll see places in Japan where they’ll serve you live frogs that you can eat raw: they gut them and slice their bottom half, leaving them to watch as you eat their legs and belly.

I’m genuinely confused how anyone could have such disrespect and be so inhumane towards the animals that die so we may live.

As I understand it, the whole point is that it's a shocking way to eat something. Kind of like how the US has rocky mountain oysters, it's meant to be disturbing and to see who's brave enough to do it.

They're not over there torturing animals every morning with breakfast.

We eat shellfish alive, cook lobsters alive and the thing the French do with the ortolan is pretty fucked up. All pales in significance to what those bug people do with dogs though.

There have been some machanimas (CGI-generated animations) coming out of China lately. They're not awesome, kind of interesting... But I'm surprised the CCP hasn't been actively censoring them. They tend to be a bit anti-government and about exposing corruption.

Genshin Impact, a Chinese owned game, released an area with corruption being a huge theme. All of the names in that area are Japanese, but it's obvious what the real inspiration is.

Phillipinos are my favorite as well as by a huge margin.

They speak English. Their culture isn't alien. This matters a lot. Their work ethic is amazing They aren't white hating racists like Japanese are. They don't have hierarchical subjugation. Friendly ppl too.
