They have the capability to to filter the water, they just choose not to and instead restrict your water usage so you can't have a lawn or restrict your showerhead flow so you have a shitty shower experience. Fuck that, if I can pay for the water then I'll use it as I see fit.

I mean, if you buy into their propaganda then sure, go use less water. The groundwater decline doesn't mean the total fresh water is reduced, it just means they'll have to get the water from somewhere else.
In the whole human history we change nature to suit us, not the other way around. So yes, we'll fuck with the ecosystem, so it suits us.
