The number one rule of being in any dangerous situation is "Don't panic". As we watch the masses line up in fear frantically grasping at any straw to escape the covid hysteria this is increasingly important. Remain calm assess the situation and only take action once you have a clear understanding of the situation un influenced by emotion.
I know the whole fight or flight response thing, but you’d think the kind of counterproductive panic people can get themselves into should’ve been bred out over the generations because it really is nothing but a hindrance. Thinking clearly and rationally can get you out of so many situations that could even lead to your death if you succumb to panic.
Thinking takes time. Often we'd get eaten while formulating our strategy if we didn't have an amygdala and an adrenaline gland.
