used to hate those. This was back when blaming the controller was a legitimate defense.

They were complete pieces of shit. The big money ones (pic8.co) weren't much better.

Ohh those too...we (well my dad) got one of those with the Tandy 1000, and that piece of shit broke in like 2 days. We got one of those boxy Tandy mouses to replace it, but it just sat there for over a year until he decided it worth tossing.

I want to say they were like 20 or 30 bucks, which was a lot of money back then.

Those POS color computer "joysticks"

Whomever thought of those needs to be beaten to death, revived, and beaten to death again. And again. And again.

Beaten to death with the joystick.

I was thinking more punctured with a GIME until dead.

lol, but you can swing the joystick by the cord, that would likely be more fun.

That thing is probably why people just used mouse and keyboard for basically all of the '90s.

This was back in the 80s. When the NES came out, I couldn't believe how awesome the controller was. At first I wasn't sure I'd like a D-Pad, but once you used it, it was amazing.

I used to have one, used it mainly for Sierra games (Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry etc). It was great for parts like driving a car or having to walk diagonally, but then you always had to set it down to type in the keyboard commands, which got annoying.

Sounds like a Tandy
