While the base Mechwarrior4 Vengeance came out in 2000. I have tested the "MekTek version 1.8 GB" It is pre-patched and includes bonus content and community fixes. It worked on my modern machine but you might need to do some fiddling and compatibility (there are several resources online for this). All that said the original base game and small DLC content is available same site for that vanilla experience. I highly recommend the training and spending a lot of time in the keybindings and settings so you can pilot your way comfortably. I will always have a soft spot for this game and it still holds up after all these years IMO if you are the type that can enjoy older games. As for anything else you can let your own eyes and ears sell you on it.
