I heard about that, but I didn't really look into it. I figured the lead was used in a way that didn't cause a risk of exposure. Kind of like how asbestos is safe as long as you don't disturb it.
If it's a vacuum bottle, it uses a lead solder to seal it - like all commercial vacuum bottles have been since there have been commercial vacuum bottles sold to the public.
You don't drink off the outer shell, so there's no lead-to-contents contact.

I figured it was something like that. Of course people had to make clickbait fear mongering articles about it.
Now, that's not saying the cheap chinese paint isn't full of cadmium, but that's a different test kit.
The example I saw was a brand new cup swabbed with a lead test kit and showed dangerously high levels (without ever being used).
