This was voluntarily done by Hormel. Gateway Pundit says this in the article and yet they write the story like its the USDA's doing along with the morons in the comments bitching about the USDA (I absolutely do not trust the USDA btw).
"Hormel Foods Corp. Services LLC, the producer of the affected SPAM, informed the USDA that they had inadvertently shipped products that may not have been adequately processed."

The story is FUD of the highest order. Stuff like this happens all the time, something gets in (or didn't get in) the processing line and a batch is contaminated. Probably some mexi-nigger that didn't wash their hands properly.
