The board sucks. Those old displays? Some of the best...it's why that one is still bright after 30 years. Futaba and Noritake knew how to make that stuff and make it right.

Some of the segments in my Onkyo receiver from about 2010 have gotten pretty tired. I'ts got a lot of hours on it, I guess it's to be expected.
