Apparently JB Weld Steelstik is good for fuel tanks. They also have a product called tankweld. Anyway, cleaned up the tank, put on some of the stick, gave it a new 3/8 fuel line and fired it up. Belt started smoking like a summabitch. Shut it off, what now methinks... Take off belt cover, got some gummy curds on the pulleys... Oh yeah, probably spilled gas all over that. Fired her back up, okay she's fine. Probably get a new belt soon and sharpen the blades.

Jb weld held anyway.

Nice, "Free" is good even if you have to put a little effort into it. It still saves something from the scrapyard and it saves you a lot of $$ on something you want anyway.

For sure, though I wouldn't say I particularly wanted a chipper, but at that price... Went into it thinking it'd be more work than it has been, or at least different work.
