Many of the in-office jobs I have had were extremely annoying. It felt like most people don't have a life outside of work so they would use work as "social time" and would waste your time half of the day every day. Remote works has let me get far more work done in far less time and I don't have to worry about people randomly walking into my office to BS for a hour about nothing every 30 minutes. It's not for everyone but there are plenty of places that are happy to have you in-office if that is what you want.
