The one translation provided of this Bible verse from a company a "registered trademark" has completely changed the meaning.

King James Bible

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Now let's look @

GOD'S WORD® Translation

"Don't think that I came to bring peace to earth. I didn't come to bring peace but conflict.

It's a minor difference but an interesting one none of the other versions recognized. In many ways it goes against the standard interpretations of the verse. I would have thought "justice" instead of "conflict" would be more appropriate.

Going to be interesting to research who and what entity registered that trademark later.

Good catch, I look forward to seeing if you find anything more.

I wouldn't say "offended" is the word. More "perturbed". It's not really surprising though.
