This isn't about God it's about a failure of the people in the victim's family and the neighbors and whomever else knew these two people and never bothered to check in on them. That poor child had to have cried- no one heard? People die alone and are left all the time and it's always a tragedy. This is a bell weather: if you know anyone that lives alone and you haven't seen them- check up on them even if it's just to say "checking in to see how you're doing".

I agree somewhat but I think they lived alone and there was no one around to hear the child. I disagree that it's not about god though, it most certainly is. If there were a "caring and loving" god that would "never" desert you then he could have easily intervened. Maybe just nudge a family member to go over for coffee, whatever, anything, something. It is proof that god does not exist.
