No. Not really the root. A common corruption of Christianity is that God controls every single aspect of every single person's life. Which is obviously false as we are provided free will. Thus part of the jealousy of the angels. The bible itself says we are to pray and do on our own based upon his teachings. Good things happen. Bad things happen. Not because God chose to do so. But because good and bad things happen as part of the natural world in which we live. It's a cop out to attribute everything to God's and Satan's will.
Beyond this, lessons are to be learned from the resulting butterfly effect. Both good and bad. We are here to learn and expose the truth as revealed to mankind. Not to be puppets of a spiteful puppet master god. The later of which is very much Satan's deception and that of his chosen people (children of Satan).
This isn't to say ultimate justice doesn't come after. But Jews have played many tricks on people to shade their view of reality such that they turn away from God. The bible itself declares Satan (the adversary, the enemy, of mankind (not humans)) has deceived the entire world. You can look out your window and confirm that.
Hear hear.
I am not saying that if there were a god that he would control every aspect of every humans life. What I am saying is that if there were a "caring and loving" god that would "never" desert you then he could have easily intervened. Maybe just nudge a family member to go over for coffee, whatever, anything, something. It is proof that god does not exist. Not controlling, but maybe taking a moment to intervene when a innocent child is suffering and starving to death. A moment, what else is he doing? Seriously, what is your god doing when babies are getting raped and beaten and starving to death? What is so important that he can't help a suffering child?
Hopefully that didn't come off to argumentative, I don't mean it that way. In my youth I was very religious, I left the faith when I realized how silly it all is by witnessing the pain and suffering of the innocent in the world.
