Paganism is just a very ancient form of gnosticism. I don't want to assume you don't really know what paganism is in its esoteric roots, but it definitely wasn't about worshipping multiple gods. The stories about the multiple gods are just allegories for reincarnation, child birth, going through puberty, and so on. Study in the cult of mythra shows if you were too stupid to figure this out you'd never get to be apart of the real religion. The one true God is Tyr. It is known.
