Actually, the SDA people have lots of false interpretations of the bible. Have them explain Romans 11, and you get an idea. The try the Ezekiel dry bones prophesy. They get it totally wrong while the explanation is right there. Just as bad on Daniel and Revelations since they use the Roman calendar instead of the Hebrew calendar so the dates are off by almost 100 years. Then toss in their weird ideas and you have Jesus not eating fish or any meat and refusing to drink wine.
No church or person knows it all. God knows it all. I've been through a lot of denominations trying to get to the truth and the SDA church is the closest. You know when things make sense and when they don't. I was in a Baptist church and they were arguing with me about Wescott and Hort being nefarious in re-writing the bible in the 1800's. Didn't matter what evidence I provided. I was trying to show people at a Calvary Church how Sunday worship is pagan and showed all the Sun Worshiping cults from history and they still wouldn't believe that the Sabbath was Saturday. My problem is once I found out the Pagans called Sunday the Venerable Day of the Sun I couldn't worship on Sunday any more. How many churches worship on Saturday? Not many around me.

I have wondered this very thing. On the one hand they talk about changing times and laws then they go and use the Julian Calendar. God said He gave us the sun and the moon for months and years (or something like that) so figuring out what year we are in should be easy if the Jews have been keeping to the original timekeeping. I chalk up the inconsistencies up to "we have to have faith". The most important part is allowing the Holy Spirit to change you into being more like Christ.
Ok, here's the deal: Ellen G. White claimed to have a vision that Christ would return in 1844. Church leaders , William Miller in particular then pushed the idea that the prophesy of Daniel concerned Christ cleansing the heavenly temple. Why? Was God's heavenly temple dirty?
But they not only got the date wrong when they used the Gregorian Papal calendar that didn't exist for Daniel they assumed that because Israel didn't exist at that time the first prophesy by Daniel was the return of Crist rather than the rebirth of the nation of Israel. So they compounded error on error. To save face the created a doctrine from whole cloth.
So, moving forward they did much the same with Daniel's second prophesy. They interpreted the prophesy so badly the original message was lost.
Using the Hebrew calendar the dates fall on May 14, 1948 while the second prophesy lands in 1967. What really happened on those dates is known to the entire world and is something of a miracle. However, try to convince an Adventist that EGW was a befuddled brain damaged delusional alcoholic hypocrite who couldn't get it right to save her life as she was uneducated and a mere puppet for the money grubbing church and they suddenly have ears of stone.
Ellen G. White claimed to have a vision that Christ would return in 1844.
I thought her first vision was after the great disappointment of 1844? Wasn't the whole 1844 thing created by Miller the farmer?

God gave us the earthly temple as a model for the heavenly temple. Once a year the High Priests would cleanse the sanctuary in the earthly temple on the Day of Atonement. So Daniel's 2300 year prophecy makes sense. What that actually means for us doesn't make sense to me.
But they not only got the date wrong when they used the Gregorian Papal calendar that didn't exist for Daniel they assumed that because Israel didn't exist at that time the first prophesy by Daniel was the return of Crist rather than the rebirth of the nation of Israel.
That's news to me. I still don't understand the true year. How did you come up with those dates number one and number two, why would Israel need to be reborn (Is there a passage in the bible that leads you to cobnclude this?)? Isn't it spiritual Israel that are God's people which is how the Gentiles are grafted in.

You're exactly right. Unfortunately the SDA doctrine by EGW makes perfection your job.

Spot on! I completely agree. It's as if they want you to behave like you are in your heavenly / translated body while on earth.
