Ok, here's the deal: Ellen G. White claimed to have a vision that Christ would return in 1844. Church leaders , William Miller in particular then pushed the idea that the prophesy of Daniel concerned Christ cleansing the heavenly temple. Why? Was God's heavenly temple dirty?

But they not only got the date wrong when they used the Gregorian Papal calendar that didn't exist for Daniel they assumed that because Israel didn't exist at that time the first prophesy by Daniel was the return of Crist rather than the rebirth of the nation of Israel. So they compounded error on error. To save face the created a doctrine from whole cloth.

So, moving forward they did much the same with Daniel's second prophesy. They interpreted the prophesy so badly the original message was lost.

Using the Hebrew calendar the dates fall on May 14, 1948 while the second prophesy lands in 1967. What really happened on those dates is known to the entire world and is something of a miracle. However, try to convince an Adventist that EGW was a befuddled brain damaged delusional alcoholic hypocrite who couldn't get it right to save her life as she was uneducated and a mere puppet for the money grubbing church and they suddenly have ears of stone.

I thought her first vision was after the great disappointment of 1844? Wasn't the whole 1844 thing created by Miller the farmer?

God gave us the earthly temple as a model for the heavenly temple. Once a year the High Priests would cleanse the sanctuary in the earthly temple on the Day of Atonement. So Daniel's 2300 year prophecy makes sense. What that actually means for us doesn't make sense to me.

But they not only got the date wrong when they used the Gregorian Papal calendar that didn't exist for Daniel they assumed that because Israel didn't exist at that time the first prophesy by Daniel was the return of Crist rather than the rebirth of the nation of Israel.

That's news to me. I still don't understand the true year. How did you come up with those dates number one and number two, why would Israel need to be reborn (Is there a passage in the bible that leads you to cobnclude this?)? Isn't it spiritual Israel that are God's people which is how the Gentiles are grafted in.

I'm not sure about her having a vision on this specific issue. "I was shown" was her oft repeated comment on many issues, insinuating God showed her something when actually she was "borrowing" writings of other authors without giving them credit. She had many "visions" some which are after reading works by other people or during some ongoing controversy. On one occasion she visited a farmer who told of a prophetic dream he wrote down. She complained of fatigue so the farmer let her use a bed to rest while he left to work in the fields.

Then while he was away she recovered and went home. The next day she claims God gave her the same vision and instructed her to share it with the church because the farmer had cowardly refused God's request to share the message. Of course it doesn't take much thought to figure out what she was doing while this farmer was out working.

Nor me.

Adventist love this theory and use it to push replacement doctrine invented by Saint Augustine the Catholic but see themselves as the true Israel. So what of Romans 11?

What are you taking from Romans 11 that doesn't agree with Spiritual Israel? Or what are you taking from it that tells you Israel as a country will return? I'm confused since it seems to support spiritual Israel.
