Good on you man, way to stay faithful. I've been trying for years to tell people about this, but almost no one listens. People have called me a wanna be Jew, accused me of legalism, you name it. When I talk to people about it, the best I get is something like "Well I think God said that I can just pick any one of the seven days, that's what matters." Others give me the same tired BS "But we're not under the law, we're under grace," as if grace is a license for whatever I just happen to feel like doing. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

Shabbat is my blessing. Friday before sundown my aim is to have my clothes washed, get menial tasks done then let go of cares and frustrations. One day to reflect on what was done or left undone, good or bad but it's over. Time for reset. Reflection and rest from the worldly cares. By next sunset I am ready to reengage. For that period of 24 hours I am absolutely free.

So, I'm explaining to my foreman how Shabbat is set aside,(kadosh) it's a day ordained for rest. He tells me Sunday is their holy day but when needed they will work on Sunday even though it's their holy day.
His counter argument had my mind stunned. If you take something kadosh and use it in a common way then it's no longer kadosh. You can't eat your cake and still have it.
That's almost exactly the argument I most often encounter. I get it, actual emergencies come up, they're unavoidable, but too often it simply sounds like "as long as I don't have anything better to do." Spot on. It's pretty obvious when researching secular history that Constantine made it law in 335 AD or thereabouts. Christianity got corrupted early on from today's perspective.
Commercial expediency is not an emergency. If your business catches fire on Shabbat, of course you rush to put it out. You feed your chickens on Shabbat if they need it and check their water. If a construction project falls behind it's not ok to make up lost productivity on Shabbat. Most delays are due to shoddy workmanship and poor planning as per my personal observations on job sites. Rework increases time by three fold. Haste literally makes waste. I've seen jobs finish ahead of schedule because work was careful, short cuts were avoided and mistakes prevented. Plan your work, then work your plan. Recently one contractor refused to use floor leveler for an old slab before installing tile because it was too expensive. Really? Inspector demanded tile be broken out three times and untrained workers finally got it to pass on fourth attempt by using a huge amount of thin set. Those who refuse to observe Shabbat engage in just such delusional thinking and gain nothing. Many times I've returned to a job on Monday, been shown contempt for my refusal to work on Shabbat by those who took Sunday off after making shoddy work on Shabbat. I point out rework on Monday, repairs are made and by Tuesday we are finally doing original work. So, doing six hour shift on Shabbat they create eight hours of rework on Monday to get to Friday on Tuesday. Please God, don't laugh at us silly humans.

Wow! Obviously he doesn't know the definition of Holy. It's like the Pope saying "Yes we follow all the Pagan rituals but we have Baptized paganism into something Holy". There is nothing Holy about fallen man.

I've experienced the same thing. Now I don't say anything I just make sure people know when I keep the Sabbath. I always say " God created the world in six days and on the 7th He rested". So I too will rest.

I told them it's a bummer for all those people who lived before Jesus arrived since obviously no one made it to heaven following the law.
