Revelation 7 has some issues. It lists Joseph as well as Manasseh, but doesn't list Dan. If they are descended from Canaan as well as Judah, are they legitimately Judahite? Judah's wife was a Canaan and the "sceptre" departed from the spawn of his Canaanite wife, and was given to the offspring of the Aramaean Tamara, who was found to be without fault despite what she did. The half-Canaanite children were already "mamzers", because God forbade that any Israelite intermarry with Canaanites and remain "set-apart" (what "Holy" actually means), God directly killed two of them- not for masturbation, but for plotting against the bloodline of Judah. Aside from that, the Edomites were also incorporated into Judea, and according to Josephus, even Herod was half-Idumean, so they had power & influence in Judea at that point.
