There are college courses that trace back and disassemble the bible as a work of literature. It’s interesting and eye opening when you start learning how it all changed over the years. There is no real beginning to the story, just bits that trace back further and further into history to times forgotten or totally lost. The parts that are pulled from or shared with other cultures and religions from BCE are interesting as well. All religions of the world have some shared stories that have played an epic game of telephone over the ages, some trace back many many thousands of years, and possibly were versions of even older stories.
The earth is much older than we are, civilization existed before we have accurate history or knowledge of it and some trace back to those times.
I can’t get into specifics, it’s been too long since I studied it to be of any real use, but if you want to start digging it is an interesting rabbit hole if you have an open mind.

The torrents are online if you (or OP) care for it. It's probably not has in-depth as a college lecture, but an interesting starting point to know if it's a rabbit hole you want to explore further.

As far as being based, KJV is the only version as far as I know that says effeminate men go to hell:

Compare with the NIV:

Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV
Try the Berean Study Bible or NWT and you will never go back... The KJV is rife with translation errors, due to being translations translated from older translations... They even removed the name of God and replaced with "lord" []... Like for instance the addition of a Latin word "lucifer" and an entire false doctrine based on that error....
BSB fails the Colossians 1:14 test and NWT is used by Jehovah's Witnesses. Gonna have to pass on both.
If who printed the bible translation is a stumbling block for you, that is unfortunate... It does not matter who uses it IMO, the fact both are translated from the copies of the originals into the language being written is very important for my choice of bible. Not from hebrew/greek to latin to english things get lost in translation...
What is this Colossians 1:14 test your talking about because verse 15 to 23 will clear up a common doctrinal lie, so is it possible the test could be flawed especially if from those who push the common lie...

Have you read the letters of the apostles? They pretty harshly condemn circumcising and the kikery of the jews at the time.

Paul tells the priests to go mutilate themselves instead of other people.
Also in revelation it says they are they synagogue of satan, and that they worship their father the devil.
Something translated from the original Hebrew and Greek... not translation of translations So the KJV is out as "accurate"... These are the ones I suggest NWT, Berean Study Bible.
