I was tryin to save him a little embarrassment
Yeah, I assume so. It's also funny.
I've heard at least a dozen people say the same: They're not certain what they've done, request clarification and get the "you know" response.
The following is completely unrelated to the above sentence, just random musing.
One of the huge problems with some people with aspergers (the poorly socialized type) is that they engage in black and white thinking. Some on the spectrum have difficulty understanding other people's viewpoints, and some are simply completely unable to recognize that others have different viewpoints. To the shitty-non-socialized aspy, everyone who has access to the same information, but comes to a different conclusion, must therefor be lying (since there isn't any other way to interpret anything.)
So if, as a hypothetical-completely unrelated to the topic at hand- an aspy sperged out and thought you had done something wrong, he would go on to assume that you must know, and must agree with his mindset (as it's the only one in existence) and therefor, if you claimed not to know (because you really didn't know) you actually must be lying about that and must know.
I have a cousin like this. She's very intelligent. She's also a cunt. Self aware aspy people will understand that they see the world solopsisticaly, and in a way that normal people consider skewed; the self-aware aspy person will make adjustments for it.
But not her. Nope. If you ask her, she'll rattle off the symptoms (including black and white thinking, and difficulty considering other people may have access to the same information, but still come to a different conclusion) but in the moment she's always correct. Never considers that it could be that she's just being an aspy cunt.
She's the type of person who thinks everyone is an asshole. If you come across a person who you thought was a total asshole- that person's probably an asshole. If however, like my cousin and maybe even someone else on this site, you think that nearly everyone you come across is an asshole.... you're probably the asshole.
Thankfully, she works a job where she doesn't have any power over people, and doesn't have to interact with them. Can you imagine if she did? Gosh, it would be a disaster for anyone who thought differently (i.e. normal people).
