I was looking, today, for a description about Jesus...alas, all I could find was Pilot's general description which makes Jesus sound like the PC Master Race meme. Anyways, Jesus had no beef with the Romans according to Pilot's secretary, so He was free to talk to the masses as he wanted with the Romans protection.
