To a degree I agree with this. The "old web" was so much more interesting. Now it feels like you just go to a couple of websites as a "portal to the internet" almost like what it was with that crappy AOL browser way back in the 90's. It's just that the "portals" now are places like reddit, facebook, X, etc...

she has never had the experience of deplatforming from hosting services I bet, though.

It takes far more to get your web hosting account closed than it does to have your social media account suspended.

I bought a VPS from the same place Poal is hosted. I don't have any of my old websites back online on it yet but it also helps if you can admin your own server's too.
