To a degree I agree with this. The "old web" was so much more interesting. Now it feels like you just go to a couple of websites as a "portal to the internet" almost like what it was with that crappy AOL browser way back in the 90's. It's just that the "portals" now are places like reddit, facebook, X, etc...

Flatpress is an old but mature self-hosted blogging platform. It needs PHP and apache, and will run on damn near anything.
