Really? I should have checked it. My bad. Twitter started using cmaf (Common Media Application Format) container on all their videos. I'm gonna have to up my ffmpeg skills. Thanks for pointing it out.

Yeah twatter and 9gag are using exotic a/v codecs that aren't cross-browser (version) friendly.

Edit: I downloaded it from twatter with https://ssstwitter.com and it's playing fine with sound.

So I couldn't really find anything online, but I did manage to figure out how to download from twitter with sound using ffmpeg. The fix is so simple it's stupid. I know you probably don't care, but I'm a nerd and I need to tell someone.
The m3u8 urls from twitter end with the container format ?container=cmaf all I had to do was change it to ?container=mp4 like they used to be and the download worked fine. Who knows how many soundless videos I would have downloaded had you not pointed that out to me. Thanks again.
