If you leave shitty ethanol gas in the fuel line, carburetor, and engine, all gas small engine tools will do this. Ethanol gas degrades into water and gum.

You need to change the fuel lines, degunk the carburetor or replace it, and pray the engine isn't damaged.

Don't leave gas (especially with ethanol) in small ICE tools you don't use frequently. Run them dry and then drain the carburetor and fuel lines next time.

I’ll bear that in mind for my tools. Unfortunately everything was either rental, borrowed, or secondhand.

Ethanol should be outlawed as a fuel. The government really screwed the pooch again with their "green agenda".

It just destroys fuel lines and gums up carbs. Maybe the big engines can handle it, but these little two stroke guys just clog up.
