Just had a Dr appointment for heel pain about a month ago. I've apparently worn the fat pad on the bottom of my heel away so it's direct bone contact with whatever's under it... painful. Apparently if I'd been wearing better quality footwear this could have been prevented (lots of time on my feet on concrete).
Don't skimp on footwear... never would have imagined I now get to look forward to several decades of being unable to walk or stand comfortably. Currently trying everything under the sun shy of the ~$500 custom inserts that might last a year, but probably less given my work.
