Get new ones so you have them ready when these ones fall apart.

Just had a Dr appointment for heel pain about a month ago. I've apparently worn the fat pad on the bottom of my heel away so it's direct bone contact with whatever's under it... painful. Apparently if I'd been wearing better quality footwear this could have been prevented (lots of time on my feet on concrete).

Don't skimp on footwear... never would have imagined I now get to look forward to several decades of being unable to walk or stand comfortably. Currently trying everything under the sun shy of the ~$500 custom inserts that might last a year, but probably less given my work.

Good God man, bless your soul

There are exercises to strengthen your feet and walking techniques that place more weight further forward.

I watch jooTube channel Rose Anvil for information on boots.

Actually like these Walmart brahma boots. I've gotten about a year and a half out of each pair

[–] 0 pt

He's probably reviewed them at some point, looking at the innards.

You've never worn good boots then...

I have some nice steel toes too but I don't do metal working anymore. Should I try redwings or what?

[–] 1 pt

Everythink CanIPlay2 said and give those boots some mink oil!

[–] 0 pt

They need to be nukes in orbit

I loved my old construction boots 45 years ago. They were American quality made back then.

Okay boomer (jk)

Take care of your feet. There's nothing worse than having to be on your feet all day and being miserable.

[–] 1 pt

I can still make it work, but yes

[–] 0 pt

Get new.

[–] 1 pt

I just can't do it. I wanna push them to the limit. Neither laces are original and one is a string from a hoodie

[–] 1 pt

If you like the boots you've worn out, get a new pair of the same, ready for when the old ones blow out.

[–] 1 pt

That's the plan. I don't exactly drive at the moment... My one work partner and I sometimes grocery shop at Walmart together though

[–] 0 pt

They are either going to break when you least need them to break or you'll end up injuring yourself and being out of work. Get new ones.

[–] 0 pt

I'll get a backup pair, but I still wanna push these fuckers to the limit

Go barefoot and pregnant ya fuk’n troon. ; )…

Earlier you mentioned, “stank”. Try merino wool socks or bamboo socks. Or better yet merino wool with bamboo socks. A little pricey, but worth it. Cotton or other non natural fibers suck.

I don't wear socks in these anymore. I just wanna see how much I can beat them to shit

[–] 0 pt

Meaning your feet

[–] 0 pt

I’ve always worn a redwing slip on boot and I wear ‘em until the sole is worn through and the seams were coming undone. Usually took 7 to 10 years. Last pair didn’t last two years before the sole was near done for. They have gone downhill as many others will say. Wear’n a Justin cowboy work boot now. So far so good, been almost six months now. Ain’t near as active now though.

It's crazy how much so many products suffer year to year from chemical regulations to outsourcing

[–] 0 pt

If they keep your feet dry and comfortable then keep them. If no to either of those then get new boots.

[–] 1 pt

Exactly. I wanna push these bastards to the limit

[–] 0 pt

Those aren't even half done rhinestone cowboy

[–] 0 pt

You have to zoom in on the fucked up laces I commented on, and seal foam insulation stains from a side gig, nevermind the inside

[–] 0 pt

Take care of your feet. Are they comfortable? Do they still offer support and protection? Up to you, bro

[–] 1 pt

They're pretty beat up and stank. Don't even wear socks with em anymore. Change into them when needed. Really should throw some alkalinity in these bastards

[–] 0 pt

Baking soda overnight. Dump in the morning and run a vacuum hose in em.

[–] 1 pt

Alkalinity is same thing and readily available. I don't take them home, haha
