Let's say it gets near the penny you swallowed as a kid, but it is separated by a fold in your guts. Now that penny squishes your guts and it will stay there cause inflammation at the very least. There is no good that will come of that.
Correct. The problem mainly comes from two objects in different parts of the small intestine drawing two different parts of the intestine into tight contact. Peristalsis won't move them and the intestinal walls are pressed together causing inflammation and tissue death. You start leaking your gut fluid into your abdomen resulting in peritonitis.
