"Printing money" is an antecedent and so is "raising prices". Inflation is the effect. You cannot just say "inflation is printing money", because that is not what inflation is.

Printing money can cause inflation. But they are not synonymous Raising the cost of goods can cause inflation. But they are not synonymous You do not have to print money to raise the price of goods. You also do not have to print money to lower the value of a currency.

And if you want to be technical... America is not experiencing inflation. America is currently experiencing stagflation.
