But what is the truth in her statement?

[–] 1 pt (edited )

I'll make the statement clearer as I understood the sentiment, "I miss the old internet, now the beautiful people are in charge, just like everywhere else"

She's saying she misses the old internet before smartphones and mass social media put the normies online, when social rejects ruled online spaces and at least attempted intellectual debate on all manner of subjects, even if they were, many times, pretentious turds. Now the web her female instincts and woman problems drive her into is a psychotic mess on instagram, tik tok, twitter and various social media platforms like facebook, all of which are beauty and youth centered and she likely feels isolated from a lost subculture online she once felt belonging too.

Her construction of this feeling incapsulated by the phrase "beautiful people" hints at a social isolation, a division from the true inheritors of original web culture for not knowing our modern shorthand, and some sort of intellectual short coming, likely some regressive psychological element, in that some aspect of her world has become too challenging and she is retreating into her mind wishing for days long past.

In simplistic terms digital migrants displaced her from her online home and her cognitive dissonance prevents this realization.

The iphone was a catastrophe for humankind and the deluge of inferior minds clogging up the web has damned us all.

Makes me think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEh3qqhiZCY

In even simpler terms she didn't know what she had until she lost it to social erosion.
