Once prices calm down a bit... Gotta be manual, pretty locked in to Ford.

Top picks are 2022 2-door Bronco 7-speed! (when available), or a Focus ST 6-Speed. How bad of an idea is it to order/ buy a brand new car? Don’t care about depreciation cause I would have no plans on selling. 7speed is base model so not too pricey.

Otherwise, a tiny “rally” car getting 35mpg would be a lot of fun, used from 2017 if I recall. I’ve read they’re actually perfectly comfortable for guys my height. Race seats and whatnot.

Still keeping my stick shift Escape; I don’t want to drive it into the ground-getting close. Big truck or lil hatch?.. Would be nice to be able to tow. Also would be nice to take country road corners at 70 cause I can.

Any thoughts fellas?

I don't know if they use the same mechanism as the F150s, but I know several people with 2021/22 Fords that have malfunctioning parking brakes. They sometimes just lock on and won't release. And since they're electronic there's no cable to release manually. We've had to pound the caliper off and spin the shaft on the parking brake out by hand but then you're without rear brakes until you get it fixed. And dealerships have been unable to get parts.

Yikes. I would hate how fucking electronic a new car would be.... My Escape is so “dumb” and I love it.

I have a truck from the 80s and recently had to buy new for work. The comforts are pretty nice but all the electronics frustrate the shit out of me.

My Ford is 2010 and juust right. Traction control and side airbags, that’s enough. Suppose I could buy another, but I want big truck or small car.

Don't. Pay off loans or buy real estate, silver or something that doesn't depreciate.

You make a good point. But I’m not many years from needing a new auto, and I really want to keep mine. And I want two, just to have em.

The cheapest vehicle is the one you already own. If it's a popular model, there will always be used spare parts as well from junkyards.

If you settle on a new Ford, do yourself a favor and never sign up for Sirius radio. They will give you a free Sirius radio package for 3 - 12 months but as soon as you don't want it anymore, you will still be stuck with Sirius in your media options and constantly hear commercials for it. Only way to fix this is to buy a new head unit/receiver or simply don't sign up or allow dealer to sign it up before you leave the lot.

Part true. If you have to get it, change out the head unit to make sure SXM works. Now when it gets close to subscription expiring, call in to cancel it. The CSR will give you 3 free months out the gate. Still say no and $12.99 a month is kinda high. CSR will give you "6 free months" if you prepay for the rest of the year at 6.99 a month. Pay it. Done it 3 years in a row now.

That only works if you want Sirius in your vehicle and like pushing 4 extra buttons to exit Sirius if you accidentally enter it. I couldn't imagine paying a jewish media conglomerate for sub par content, but to each his own...

Don't buy a new car, cuck. They are all shit, loaded with sensors that will fail and cost $$$$$$ to fix, if you can even FIND the sensors. Get a 20 year old Chevy Astro van. It has like 4 sensors, readily available.

2022 2-door Bronco 7-speed!

Thos are 4 bangers. Dont you want the real truck branco they also came out with?

Also i delt with enough ford "engineering" on late 90's f150s. No thanks never will buy a Ford again.

Yea they are 4-bangers. I question that lil motor vs 4,300 lbs curb weight..

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this kit makes me wish I had the time and money.

I’ve looked at those kits a bunch. A lot of cool options. Always wanted a Cobra, but then I remember I need to preserve my hearing for work... The 818 looks cool as hell, MR car would be awesome, but I’ve read it’s not quite a daily driver, and plenty of other drawbacks.

Buy whichever toy you want. Sounds as though you can afford it. Play with it, have fun.

Make sure you go to a dealer that isn't charging market adjustment. The only dealer near me that does is Honda, Toyota, Ford and Kia dealers near me all charged regular MSRP, so if you go to one Ford dealer and they charge market adjustment, walk right out the door and go somewhere else.

Getting exactly what you want in terms of options is going to be tricky, inventory is fucked and wait times for custom orders are long. Easiest way to get what you want is to actually go on the Ford configurator website, configure the options you want and then use the search inventory feature to find a dealer with what you want in hand.
