Geocaching has been a fun sport since the early 2000s. It's a lot of fun and generally is a way to get people to find places you find interesting or beautiful
Or lead them to an ass fondling dungeon.

It is real, it's mainly people making their walks or hikes more interesting.
It's been a while since I've heard about that. Had some friends that were into it, there's only so much excitement you can get trying to locate a thing that may not even be there anymore, and they kind of faded out of it.
Yup, it's real. I've never set out to find a cache on purpose but I've come across several randomly throughout the states. It's a fun thing. Most usually have some sort of logbook and others are "take something, leave something" caches.
It's a white person's hobby.
It's a GPS treasure hunt for adults.
