Santa Clara, (in silicon valley, home of the SF 49ers' Levi Stadium) has had a wastewater treatment facility producing drinkable water, for about ten years now. I have toured it, it's quite impressive, including reverse osmosis and ultraviolet processes. They use the reclaimed water primarily for irrigation though.

im not saying it is not safe to do in theory you just have literally the most corrupt and incompetent administrations and they are the one building it. i wouldnt trust this administration to build a sand castle let alone a waste water treatment plant
