There is no country which isn't better off today as a result of European imperialism. Even Africa came out way ahead. Though Africa is currently working to fix that by returning their counties back to pre-industrial levels. Save only where Europeans and non-Europeans are helping them. This is not to say terrible things didn't happen with imperialism. But in general people and their societies were uplifted far beyond their own reach.
