Manufacturers and dealers spent the last 30 years in a race to the bottom.

Bigger discounts, greater sales, unlimited supply. The only constraint was on how many people you could talk into switching their car.

Even then, dealers were called thieves. They were taking up to 10k off msrp and people still complained. People would drive 100 miles just to save a couple hundred bucks on a car deal. It's not even about the money. It's a game.

And now, the prices are fixed, you're going to wait 2-3 months for your car, and these same assholes that drive that 100 miles to save a buck are screaming for the Manufacturers to take over the sales process.

You think the Manufacturers will give you a discount? Think they'll throw anything in to sweeten the deal?

Hell no. But people pretend they don't like negotiating. Until they can't.

Hello sales/dealer critter

Manufacturers and dealers spent the last 30 years in a race to the bottom.

That's called competition. That's how capitalism works.

Even then, dealers were called thieves.

Because they are. Slimy, crooked thieves, I might add.

You think the Manufacturers will give you a discount?

They don't need to do anything. I'm not buying. They'll run out of suckers soon enough for my needs. I do have fun when they call and beg me to sell them my current vehicles, though.

What has a dealer ever stolen from you? Really. Thieves steal from people.

It's such hyperbole.

The actual validity of my extended warranty.

They would if I let them, and they do from gullible people all the time. The slimy part is extra true. You can see it at the dealerships that are doing mandatory dealer add-ons these days just because they know the suckers will pay. Why not just a markup? Who know? Maybe it helps the conscience somehow believing they're selling something of value by adding $10 of Scotch Guard to the seats and charging $500.
