No that's not why people want a warranty. Why would anyone presume that a car warranty includes maintenance items? It has never in the history of warranties covered wear and tear parts that due to the nature of the part it will likely need replaced no matter what.

Depends on how long. I have owned 5 Toyota vehicles so far, all of them far over 100,000 miles and not a single one has ever needed a repair for anything except a headlight bulb in one and coolant hoses in another. If I had a car with CV joints that needed replacement in that timeframe it would be a defect as far as I'm concerned. It's not my problem if your car company is too retarded to make CV joints that last as long as Toyota's.

Your average 10yr warranty is 2500 bucks. If warranties worked the way you want them to they'd have to charge 10k.

LOL. You sell GM or Chrysler vehicles or something? I haven't spent $10k on repairs all totalled up in my whole life, but that's why I only buy Toyotas.

Nope, yota4life.

Also, 65% warranty penetration last month. 65% of my people disagree with you on whether they see the value in a warranty. Yes, 65%, on a yota.

People see value in lots of stupid shit that is not actually economically valuable. What I need to see to be convinced is that your average customer pays more out of pocket for repairs during the extended warranty period for repairs that would have been covered than the warranty costs.

That's the gamble my friend. I don't need to prove it to you. Tell me no, I move on. We all make our choices. As we say in the car business, NEXT!
