Absolutely. Got me listening to Billy Joe Shaver too, who is great. I had never felt sad about a celebrity, someone who I didn’t know, passing, but damn.
Also, learned how to properly tell a bad joke
I got to drink with Billy Joe & his son a few decades back. My old boss owned a restaurant/honky tonk where Billy Joe played occasionally. Besides being the kitchen manager, I was the weekend bouncer for the shows. Got to hang with a lot of South Texas legends.
Nice!! That’s fuckin awesome. Doug Sahm by chance?
Doug Sahm's house was just a few blocks from my house. Went to high school with his sons! One is leading the Texas Tornados, the other is doing his thing in Amsterdam.
