VP of Tech here. My background is mostly on the AppDev side, but by and large, "IT" guys are not dicks. Infrastructure guys though, are all dicks. The skills and focus required for that job attracts people with low tolerance for bullshit. Add the help desk factor in, and exposure to luddite business users, and hilarity ensues.
