I've heard the phrase "Civic Nationalism" or "CivNat" tossed around for, I don't know, several dozen times on podcasts and videos. But what is the defintion? Is there one? What is it about the 'Civic' part? Dumb sounding question but I was born in a country where 'civic' means something akin to 'non-government'. That can't be it, though, can it?

Closer to small government where the communities are mostly self sustaining and don't require the transfer of wealth or a heirarchy to exist. So charity and voluntary support would fill in the gaps so you aren't that far off.
