The offer is above market value and they are publicly owned. They have a fiduciary responsibility to seriously consider the offer. That being said, I can almost guarantee they won’t accept. The egos involved are much to big and fragile to accept ‘defeat’ in this way

I have this feeling that Twitter is toast in any case.
First: Board does not sell. Musk invests in TS. Investors sue them out of existence. Second: The left finds a new suitor to out bid Musk. Musk invests in TS and Twitter tanks. Third: Musk takes it private and guts the liberals.

I don't know enough about finance to know what the options are for Elon. I would think the shareholders would be smart to take a huge windfall of profits. Maybe the people running twitter, who are liberal fascists intent on using the platform for propaganda purposes, won't like that, but I don't know if they can stop it.

Then you have Canada where poorly defined “hate speech” can be a criminal offence. If you tweet something that offends the wrong people you can go to jail.

I applaud his efforts to pull Twitter back from the extreme censorship it is engaging in, but what we need are anonymous, decentralized social networks that cannot be controlled by any single party.
