Does it even make sense to buy a home made after 1980? Better to buy an old home in good condition.
I bought a house built in 92. White niggers that lived here before didn't do any home maintenance for 8 years and had five children. Lots of issues but the house had a new roof, water heater, AC unit, insulation in the attic and basement crawl space.
I had to repaint every room, reinstall floors, replace lighting, and build a new deck. Lots of rot on the deck due to the deck boards swelling and closing up.
It was very worth it to get this house over a brand new cookie cutter house like some of my friends did. I'm in a corner of a cul de sac and I have a ton of privacy compared to them. Lots of beautiful hardwoods cover the house too.
Just like in the past it all depends on who’s building it.
