So, I'm researching the happenings in Ukraine and I noticed this morning they closed up the last synagog in the Ukrainian city of Odessa today, as there are now only 12 Jewish families left in all of Odessa, and they are also now leaving before the war arrives.

They also said that 40,000 Jews have already evacuated out of the Ukraine, ahead of the Russian advance.

I then realized you don't need to force the Jews out to get them to leave your country. All you have to do is get invaded, preferably by the Russians, and the Jews will all leave of their own accord.

In fact, they are the first to go. They don't even say good bye.

Be a shame if their homes, businesses, and synagogues were looted and burned down before this was all over. They probably wouln't return for a while.

Crazy how easy a mezuzah makes it to identify a household.

I like that I came here to discover this

There are anywhere between 43,000-400,000 jews in the Ukraine!!!

https://forward.com/fast-forward/482954/who-are-ukraine-jews-and-how-is-russian-invasion-affecting-them/ A 2020 demographic study of European Jewry puts the number of Ukrainians who identify as Jews at 43,000. But some estimates of people with Jewish ancestry quadruple that number.

https://www.worldjewishcongress.org/en/about/communities/UA According to the estimates of Hebrew demographer Sergio DellaPergola's "World Jewish Population, 2016," Ukraine is home to between 56,000 and 140,000 Jews, making it the fourth largest Jewish community in Europe and the eleventh largest in the world.

https://www.jta.org/2019/05/13/global/on-land-soaked-with-blood-of-their-ancestors-jews-in-ukraine-are-flourishing Ukraine, which today has anywhere between 60,000 to 360,000 Jews

https://www.rt.com/russia/546928-ukrainian-jews-evacuation-plan/ Analysts estimate there could be as many as 400,000 Jewish people living in Ukraine

So the jewish population of Ukraine is somewhere between 0.1 and 1 % of the population. Significantly less than the 2% in the US.

Yet a jew is their President

And their prime minister too https://www.thejc.com/comment/analysis/with-two-jews-in-the-country-s-top-jobs-what-is-next-for-ukraine-zelensky-groysman-poroshenko-1.483338

>With two Jews in the country's top jobs, what is next for Ukraine? >First country outside Israel where the president and prime minister are both Jewish

Well I guess we know the answer now

But the head jew is still 'in charge'
