It's a virus like Pfizer is a vaccine. HIV is a RETROvirus. It doesn't even have a protein jacket, no special way of getting inside a cell's nucleus, nothing really but a little ring of RNA with the code that induces ribosomes to manufacture more little RNA rings using an endless loop of instructions.

In the world of mammalian immune systems, HIV is like a fish becoming allergic to water.
