why would you make such a huge change right before/after your wedding. i mean you would think you would make sure marriage is stable first, although that is assuming this isnt just one massive political stunt and the divorce payments are part of it.
Women have gotten very used to acting without consequences in the West. Especially when it comes to marriage. Modern marriage, for men, is effectively agreeing to fork over everything you have, including your children, to your woman and she can fabricate anything to make this happen. Of course, there are measures one can take to prevent this, but when a woman claims to be your partner and goes through the whole 'Til Death Do Us Part' bullshit, you can't imagine that she'll just drop all these divorce-rape measures on you the very next day. But women can do that. And since they can do that, they will. Women are not obligated to the same standards of morality and decency than men are and the evidence of this surrounds us since the dawn of recorded history. They live life on a different, more easier method that permits them to use others freely. Because that's the environment we've permitted them.

The only happy marriage I know I think the guy is a mung. Good lad, but he's too accepting and she's probably doubled in size and screeches wherever she goes. He is not happy, not sad, hardly any emotion at all. he was like that before he met her.
Every other marriage I know of either ended, someone died (best case) or one or both are secretly miserable and hate the other. I used to be an idealist but I really think marriage is incompatible with modern society. Everyone pushes you to end it and there are no consequences. No ones wants to work on anything anymore, so why try to fix a relationship when it can be even more fun being newly single?
On that note, society can't really function without a basic, working form of marriage.
