The "housing crisis" is a propaganda tool by California politicians to deflect blame for their failed policies. They claim that homelessness, crime, and lack of affordability are due to a housing shortage so they can deflect the blame to local governments. The reality is that in 2020, California had more housing per 100,000 population than it had in 1960^1 ^2. This false narrative serves a double purpose in totalitarian California. All those communist state legislators receive millions of dollars from unions and the real estate industry. Those legislators turn around and make legislation to force local cities to approve massive developments that line the pockets of developers and construction workers' unions. ---- 1.
